Kristin was born on February 23, 1965 in Colorado, USA. Her parents got divorced when she was only a baby and was later on adopted by her step father in 1968. Her family then moved to Columbia, South Carolina because her step father was transfered to a university. She lived there until she graduated from high school in 1982. She attended Rutgers University and after her graduation moved to New York where she became a waitress and opened a yoga studio with a friend. She later on started to pursue theater and commercials for some time.

In 1995, Kristin got the role as Brooke Armstrong Campbell on “Melrose Place”. Unfortunately, her character was so hated by the viewers that she had to be written off. She also had a few cameos in ER, General Hospital, Nine Months and was featured in a TNT made-for-TV movie, The Heidi Chronicles plus a few others.

Finally in 1998, she was chosen to play Charlotte York in “Sex and the City”, where she became one of the 4 main characters of the show. Kristin currently lives in Los Angeles.
